Chulu East Climbing Introduction

Chulu East (6584m) lies in the Popular Annapurna region along the Annapurna Round trek above the  Manang Valley. Chulu East Climbing requires climbing skills and Mountaineering experience as well as good physical condition. Chulu East Climbing is technically challenging  Mountain. Your this Climbing trip starts from Kathmandu, You can Drive to Chamje from Kathmandu and continue trek to  Dharapani, Chame, Pisang Peak  Manang and Ladder and Chulu est Base Camp get to the top and back to the lathe or Yak Kharka than you can climb up to the throng la pass(5416m) and dawn to Popular Muktinath  Tato Pani( Natural Hot Spring) and Pokhara or you can back to the Bashar by the same way and Drive to Kathmandu.
You have really great experience with Tibetan origin Gurung people and their own culture and lifestyle in the trans-Himalaya region. You have Panoramic view from the top of the Chulu East you can see Mt Manaslu(8156m), Annapurna 2nd (7937m), Annapurna 4th (7525m), Annapurna 3rd (7555m), GangaPurna (6248m) and many others white peak.

Chulu East Climbing Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in kathmandu and transfer to hotel

After your arrival at TIA airport our all time staff will  be there for you with a warm welcome and greetings. After that you will be transferred to the hotel safely. You have been in a long flight so you can have a rest at the hotel. If possible then you can have a half day trip to Kathmandu and enjoy the lifestyle of nepali community. Then at night you’ll be provided an amazing nepali cuisine.

Day 02: Sightseeing in kathmandu WHS and preparation for the trip 

It is the day of exploration of the Kathmandu valley which is highly known for the world heritage sites. After breakfast we will start our journey of exploration. We will travel to swayambhunath the monkey temple, boudhanath which has one of the largest stupas in asia, patan durbar square one of the oldest cities of kathmandu, Pashupatinath famous for the hindu temple. After this you can have a short preparation about the trip.

Day 03: Drive kathmandu via besisahar to chamje by jeep (1430m)

Today we will start an early early drive from Kathmandu to besisahar. The road leads us west with a trishuli river and branches off the prithivi highway, going alongside the myagdi river it will take us about 6 hours of the journey. In the early afternoon we will be at besisahar then through a private jeep we will go to chamje by following the marsyangdi valley. At night you can enjoy the typical nepali food.

Day 04: Chamje to Dharapani (1860m)

Now a little bit of our uphill journey starts while traveling to a dharapani. It leads us to a beautiful village where we will be served with spectacular hospitality. It will take us about 5 hours to reach the destination. On this day we will  trek to the beautiful region of dharapani. Now we will cross a huge marshyangdi river then we will continue trekking uphill to reach tal village. Now we will trek for some horse to reach dharapani.

Day 05: Dharapani to chame (2670m)

Now the journey will take us to the uphill village of chame. Our day starts with a delicious breakfast, then we will continue our journey towards our destiny walking through the beautiful view of the vicinity. As we start to enter the high altitude the vegetation and settlements starts to be changed. Now we can have a look at the lifestyle of tibetans. The tibetan lifestyle is strong in this region. We will spend our night with locals.

Day 06: Chame to pisang (3200m)

From now on we will be on altitudes over 3000 meters, Now you will start to notice the slight change in your surroundings and as from now natural trees and plants will become more scarce and the surroundings become drier like desert. Now our journey starts with a small village along the bank of marshyangdi river. We will now start to walk  through the coniferous and small settlement of the mountain people. We will enjoy our beautiful night in camp or a tea house.

Day 07: Pisang to manang (3540m)

We will start in the early morning  and walk for 2-3 hours to get a beautiful view. We will trek through the beautiful pine and rhododendron forests. Now we will trek to the splendid manang valley. Now we can see a view of mountains. After reaching the manang valley now we can enjoy our night with the locals of manang. We will learn how they spend their days on high altitudes. Then, we will have our dinner.

Day 08:  Acclimatization in manang

This will be an ideal place to stop and spend the day around in manang for many reasons.  And as we are moving to higher elevations, risk of altitude sickness also increases so now we need to acclimatize and rest. Manang is a beautiful and perfect spot filled with beautiful natural settings. Today we will hike up to khangsar in the afternoon for a short detour. Now we will acclimatize to the altitude and we will conserve our energy to succeed in our journey.

Day 09: Manang to yak kharka (4050m)

We will start our day with the delicate breakfast and we will start our journey towards the yak kharka. Now we move across the cheggi khola river  and we can see the beautiful apple field known for its stone huts and scenic vantage points. While trekking now we can have an amazing view of Annapurna, Gangapurna and Tilicho peak. And finally when we arrive at the Yak kharka we will spend our night.

Day 10: Yak kharka to chulu east base camp (4900m)

Today we will start our day with a refreshing morning sunrise view and a delicate breakfast. Then we will start our trek towards the uphill chulu east peak. It will be a great experience as we can see the gorgeous views on the surrounding mountains. It will take 4-5 hours through the main trail. We will take some light snacks and continue our trek. We will take rest when we reach the base camp.

Day 11: Base Camp to High Camp (4955m) & plan the climbing route & try to set up highcamp during the day

We start our day early in the morning. After having a delicious breakfast we will start our trek towards the high camp. This will be a tough and amazing day because you have to use some trekking guidance which you’ve learned in kathmandu and we will be travelling through the middle of the mountains. Now we will plan the route of climbing  and we will set up a highcamp on the day.

Day 12: Climb to top and back to base camp

Today we will travel through the mountains and it will  be the tough  journey but it is worth it. While on a journey you will forget every pain that has been in the journey. Top point is physical and mentally relaxation. After reaching the top we will spend an hour there and we will click some beautiful photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains. Then we will slowly climb down and return to base.

Day 13: Base camp to Ledar (4200m)

Now we slowly start to trek downwards towards the ledar. After packing and arranging our equipment, we start to move. Now we can see the rapidly changing landscape as we have reached the higher elevations. We can see some beautiful views of hills and mountains. Now we will be at an altitude of 4200m. Now we will spend our night at the ledar.

Day 14: Ledar to thorong phedi (4510m) or Thorong high camp (4925m)

From the ledar, we will start our adventure towards the Thorong Phedi, now we can have beautiful views  of mountains, hills and the natural beauty. This would  be a thrilling experience for us because you can travel with and feel the cold weather and mountains. It will take us about 4-5 hours to reach the Thorong phedi.

Day 15: Thorong phedi/ High camp to Thorong-La pass (5416m) to muktinath (3800m)

After having a delicate breakfast  we will gradually start to move downwards leaving all the mountains in the back. From now on our path is becoming easier and it’s much less work. Now you will feel much better because of the less effort. Now we will travel towards the muktinath. Our journey can be 9-10 hours for us. At night we will be at muktinath enjoying the delicious nepali cuisine.

Day 16: Muktinath to jomsom (2726m)

Now from here, we will start to climb down to kagbeni. Kagbeni is the economic hub of this region which has a beautiful scenery. It will be a 5-6 hours of trek towards the kagbeni and after reaching kagbeni we will now again trek down to the beautiful town and district headquarter, jomsom. We will enjoy our night with delicious cuisine. Now we will be back below 3500m and you will feel better and possibly now you will enjoy your food and beverage.

Day 17: Drive or fly back to pokhara

Now it’s time for us to leave the  beautiful mountains and fly back to pokhara or  we can get a private jeep to drive back to pokhara. It will be a 35 minute flight  towards the pokhara or  it will take 5-6  hours for us to reach pokhara. Pokhara is one of the beautiful cities of nepal. After reaching pokhara you can take a rest and at night you can enjoy the nightlife of pokhara.

Day 18: Drive back to kathmandu

After having a delicate breakfast at pokhara we will drive back to kathmandu. Now your journey starts and ends. Once again the beautiful bus ride will keep you refreshed throughout the journey. After reaching the kathmandu you can once again roam around this vibrant city or you just can rest. At night you can enjoy a night life of thamel.

Day 19: Refresh day in kathmandu

Mountaineering and travelling is a big deal. So, on this day you can do treatments and checkups. This day is the rest day so you can travel around the city to see a beautiful view of kathmandu. You can buy gifts and try some nepali cuisines, street foods. You can buy some nepali handmade thanka and carpets. At night you will be served with a delicious nepali cuisine.

Day 20: Drive to international airport and departure

It will be the last day of yours in Kathmandu or nepal. So, grab some breakfast and go shopping in kathmandu. You can go to a spa and you can buy handmade sculpture and carpets, shawls. We’ll make sure you’ll arrive at Kathmandu TIA with plenty of time. And now we’ll give you a nice farewell with some nice goodbyes
