Overview

Jomsom Muktinath (3,760 m.) trek is one of the best treks inside Annapurna Conservation area. It is a popular religious site for Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims where thousands of pilgrims visit from all over the world every year. You can drive or flight to Pokhara and follow the Ghorepani Poon hill trek's itinerary till Ghorepani. Afterwards, the descending route goes to Tatopani through the Rolling terrace field and unique village of Magar settlement. Dense rhododendron and Magnolia forest are found here in abundance. You can enjoy of the great views of Dhaulagiri (8,167 m.), Annapurna (8,091 m.), Mt. Nilgiri range and other many mountains and Kaligandaki valley. Kaligandaki river here is one of the holiest rivers in Nepal. Walking along the riverside, you can observe Rupse waterfall, the deepest gorge in the world, Kalapani and Marpha., the most popular Thakali village in Nepal. The jomsom muktinath trekking route then goes along Kegbeni, the border of the Lower Mustang and Upper Mustang. Along the this trek you can visit many old monasteries and temples. The only one Bon Po monastery in Lupra Village is a treat to watch. Muktinath is a junction for the many other trekking routes like as Throng-la Pass (5,416 m.) and Upper Mustang. 
You may also choose to fly to Jomsom from Pokhara and climb up to Muktinath temple and descend all the way to Birethanti.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the hotel evening welcome dinner 

Arrival and Pick up from the Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to the hotel. The hotel is around 30 minutes drive from the airport on our private transportation. At the hotel, you are checked in and welcomed by a welcome drink, snack and dinner in the evening. In the evening you can visit some pretty famous bars and pubs in the town which are at walking distance from the hotel. Also, you can visit some shops that contain paintings and artifacts that describe Nepal in various ways.

Day 2: Drive  to Pokhara( 820m) Overnight in Pokhara(6hrs)

Pokhara is another city in northwest Nepal and the gateway to the Annapurna Region. Pokhara is 200 Km drive from Kathmandu which takes us around 5-6 hours of drive through the windy roads at the hills of Nepal. On the way, we have some spectacular views of the Mountain regions. The way takes you out of the Kathmandu Valley towards the plains alongside the Trishuli River followed by the Marsyangdi River. We had Lunch at the Malekhu Bazar at Dhading District in Nepal. On reaching Pokhara, we check in to the hotel at the Lakeside. The lakeside is the most happening place in Pokhara with lots of tourist attractions. With a view of the Lake Fewa, you can visit bars and pubs or go back to sleep and take rest for trekking the next day.

Day 3: Drive to Nayapul (1070m) and Trek to Ulleri(2070m)5hrs

Taking Breakfast at Pokhara we take private transportation to further west till Nayapul. The drive is around 1 hour which takes us to the starting point of many trekking routes in the Annapurna Region. From Nayapul we start our trek towards Ulleri, We start our trek alongside the Bhurungdi Khola which is directly originated from the Annapurna Mountain. On the way, we grab our Lunch at Birethanti and walk furthermore. You will have the first view of Mount Machhapuchhere with two tops shaped in fishtail from which its name is derived on this day. We cross many waterfalls and on the way to Ulleri. We reach Ulleri after roughly 5-6 hours of trek.

Day 4: Ulleri 2070m to Ghorepani(2860m)4hrs

After taking Breakfast in Ulleri, we walk uphill towards North. The trail is made for trekkers with uphill mostly. The trial till Ulleri is mostly uphill only. We climb almost 900 meters on this day which takes us around 4-5 hours walking time but the rest time on this day is higher. The trial includes many suspension bridges and waterfalls which are frozen during the winter making ice hanging till almost 20-30 meters in the cliffs. Passing Banthanti and Nangethanti and taking our lunch on the way we reach Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a small village where most tourists going to Annapurna Region or Poonhill stay overnight. Passing Lower Ghorepani we accommodate in a Lodge in Upper Ghorepani. The distance between Upper Ghorepani and Lower Ghorepani is around 10 minutes.

Day 5: Ghorepani to Tatopani(1190m)6hrs

At Ghorepani, we hike up to the PoonHill for the Spectacular view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain Range which is more than 180 degrees view of the Mountains starting from Machhapuchere in the East to the Dhaulagiri at west. We return back to the lodge and take our breakfast at Ghorepani and start our trek towards Tatopani. The trek is around 6 hours long and takes us through Sikha till Tatopani. We take our Lunch at Sikha. Tatopani means hot water which represents the natural hot water spring in the place. We take a dip at the hot water pond there at Tatopani and accommodate at the lodge for the day.

Day 6: Tatopani to Kalopani(2530m)6hrs

On the 6th day, we take our breakfast at Tatopani and start our trek towards Kalopani on the banks of Kaligandaki River. This river is originated from the mountains of this region. With cold and glacial water of the mountains. Crossing Dana and Ghasa Village we further trek towards Kalopani. It takes us around 6 hours to reach Kalopani.

Day 7: Kalopani to Marpha(2670m)6hrs

On the seventh day, we start our trek from Kalopani we further trek alongside the kali Gandaki river through the forests along the way we reach Marpha crossing the Tukuche village on the way. Marpha is most famous for Apples, we can visit apple farms there and even try some apple wines while there in Marpha. Also, we can visit the village and understand the lifestyle there in Marpha village.

Day 8: Marpha to Kagbeni(2610m)4hrs

Today we take our breakfast at Marpha village and further trek toward north towards Kag Beni via Jomsom. From here we can view the mountains at the southern side as we have reached the leeward side of the mountains. The lands here are very dry with very less amount of rainfall throughout the year. Kagbeni also has its religious importance which makes it famous and most internal tourists visit here mainly during sept-oct.

Day 9: Kagbeni to Muktinath(3760m)

On the 9th day we reach the Muktinath Temple which is very famous among people in Nepal and India. Lots of people come here to visit this temple. Muktinath Temple is religious among the pilgrimages. It is believed that all our sins are washed away if we take shower in the 108 taps in the temple and take a dip at the temple pond. After visiting the temple at Muktinath we accommodate here for the day. Today’s trek is around 6 hours.

Day 10: Muktinath to Jomsom(2720m)

From Muktinath, we trek towards Jomsom which also headquarters of Mustang District.  Which also has an airport which operates flights to Pokhara. This region is also famous for many Buddhist pilgrimages. We trek for 5-6 hours today.

Day 11: Jomsom to Pokhara(820m) by flight(30m)

From Jomsom, we take an early flight to Pokhara which is 30 minutes long flight and takes you from one side of the mountain to another. The view on the way is indescribable as you cross the most amazing mountains in the Himalayas. On Pokhara, you can try adventure sports like the Bunjee Jump, Para Gliding or other water sports of your choice. Visiting Pubs and Clubs in Pokhara, we end our trek on this day.

Day 12: Pokhara to Kathmandu

Today after grabbing our breakfast, we take a tourist bus back to Kathmandu or Fly to Kathmandu. The roads are the same yet you will have some spare time around the Thamel after reaching Kathmandu.

Day 13: Drive to International airport and Departure to your own Country.

Checkout from the hotel. And we end our trip with you dropping at the airport and seeing you goodbye and wising for a safe flight back home.
